Diet Tips For Weight Loss

Exercise without a specific weight loss diet is incomplete. No matter how many hours you send on the treadmill, you will not be able to realize your weight loss goals, if you do not follow a scientific diet. There are hundreds of diet plans out there. Instead of getting lost into the confusion, let me put down 10 best diet tips for weight loss.

Weight Loss: Doing it right way

Do these work? Definitely. What’s the catch? These tips will help you shed weight fast ONLY if you do not cheat. If you are hell bent at losing weight, stick to every letter mention in the following tips.

Water Should Be Your Best Friend

We all know that water flushes out toxins, clears skin and basically does everything good to us, minus the calories. Then why is it that most people fail to drink sufficient amount of water? The importance of drinking water for losing weight has been sidelined, or should I say, overshadowed by the expensive liquid supplements and by the so-called ‘zero calorie’ drinks.
Since water is almost free, we take it for granted. Believe me, if you drink the correct amount of water (6-8 glasses) daily, you will win half the battle against body fat. Drink plenty of water every day to rev up your metabolism, clean your system, and stay hydrated.
There is no bigger gimmick than calorie-free beverages. It is complete nonsense. Water is the only calorie-free beverage out there. The low calorie beverages contain chemicals to taste better. These chemicals harm your organs. Why to waste money and health on low calorie beverages when you have the cleanest and the simplest drink called water?

Carefully Select Nighttime Snacks

Careless eating takes place mostly after dinner. One example of eating amnesia is putting on your favorite TV show and munching on a packet of potato chips. After dinner, do not indulge in calorie-rich nighttime snacks. Healthy nighttime snacks include green tea (without sugar).

Eat Several Small Meals During The Day

If you want to lose weight, go for 4-6 mini meals evenly distributed  over  the day, instead if 3 large meals. When we eat 2-3 large meals, we feel hungry after a few hours. As a result, we end up eating more. On the other hand, if you eat smaller, low calorie meals, say every 3-4 hours, you will not feel like eating more.

Include Protein In Every Meal

Unlike carbs and fat, protein does not trigger your appetite. Eat protein in every meal to lose weight. Good protein sources include egg whites, lean meat, fish (less oily ones), chicken breast and beans.

Include Healthy Convenience Foods

You can add healthy convenience foods such as marinara sauce, canned beans, canned tomatoes and boil-in-a-bag brown rice. However, you should use these only when necessary. These should not replace your home-cooked meals.

Replace Coffee With Green Tea

Coffee is not a bad drink. However, given its addictive characteristics, and its variety (cappuccino, latte and more), it does tend to throw in calories inside you. Many people say “but I don’t drink coke or soda. I just drink coffee”. But when you look at the coffee they drink, it is 1000 calories – sugar, milk, cream and what not.

Am I Drinking Too Much Coffee?
Moreover, drinking coffee after dinner or before bedtime is definitely a bad idea. Instead, load up antioxidants with herbal green tea or gunpowder green tea. And again drink green tea as ‘green tea’, and not with sugar or other things.

Eat Fruits, NOT Fruit-Based Foods

Grocery stores sell dozen of packed foods that read ‘contains fruit’. Of course, they contain fruits, but minus the fiber, and plus the sugar. In short, pure nonsense! Do not get lured by such products. Opt for whole fruits such as apples and oranges.

Do Not Use Sugar-Free Artificial Sweeteners

Artificial sweeteners contain Aspartame. This chemical has numerous side effects associated to it. Studies have even shown that Aspartame causes greater weight gain than sugar. Stay away from this sweet poison. If required, opt for brown sugar or honey.

Eat Chilies

Chilies can accelerate your metabolism. ‘Natural’ is the key here. Use only natural chilies, and not processed flakes.

Eat Green Veggies

Green pepper, lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, French beans and spinach are great foods for weight loss. These foods not only help lose weight, but also clean your system that often gets polluted due to acidic foods.

 Eat Nuts

Nuts are good. Portion is the key here. A handful nuts everyday will not harm. Overdo this and you will be consuming thousands of calories. Nuts such as almonds are great foods.
Now that you know 10 diet tips for weight loss, get going and shed those pounds fast.
